How to delete your account

If you have signed in to Hush with your Google account and want to delete your account and all associated data, follow the steps below. Hush is built and maintained by Kunal Shinde.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

Open the Hush app on your Android device.
Sign in if you aren't already, then tap your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the home screen.
Scroll down to the Account section.
Tap Delete account & all data.
A confirmation dialog will appear explaining that the action is permanent. Tap Delete to confirm.
The app will wipe your cloud and local data and sign you out. You'll be returned to the welcome screen.

Option 2 — Email request

If you no longer have the app installed or are unable to access the in-app deletion flow, email us:

Subject: Hush account deletion request
Include: The Google account email address you used to sign in to Hush.
Response time: We will action the request within 30 days, usually within 72 hours.

What gets deleted

The following data is permanently deleted:

Data type	Where it lived
Google account info (email, display name, profile photo URL)	Firebase Authentication
Firebase user ID	Firebase Authentication
Focus session history (start time, duration, completion status, category, ambient sound)	Google Cloud Firestore + local device storage
App preferences (theme, voice toggle, last-used settings)	Local device storage
Last sync timestamp	Local device storage

What may be retained

The following information may be retained for limited periods, even after account deletion, for the reasons listed:

Anonymous crash logs (Firebase Crashlytics)	Up to 90 days	Diagnostic purposes; not tied to your name or email after deletion.
Backup snapshots in Google Cloud infrastructure	Up to 90 days	Google Cloud's standard backup retention policy. Backups are not user-accessible.
Email correspondence (if you wrote to us)	Up to 2 years	Customer support records.

After the retention periods above, all remaining traces of your data are permanently erased.

Reinstalling the app

If you delete your account and later reinstall Hush, signing in with the same Google account creates a fresh account — your previous session history is not recoverable. The app works offline without signing in, if you prefer not to create an account again.
